Maternity photographer in Salzburg

A maternity photographer in Salzburg is a photographer who plans a calm session around your bump, usually in the last weeks of the third trimester, outdoors in a garden or in your own living room. The city’s gardens suit pregnancy shoots because the paths are level and a bench is never far away. The Mirabellgarten opens daily at about 6 am and stays open until dusk, and the palace and garden are wheelchair accessible. In June the sun is already up by around 5.10 am, so a session that starts at 6.15 am gets low, soft light across the flower beds long before the tour groups and the midday heat.

A maternity session takes about an hour, with breaks whenever you need them, and can include your partner, an older sibling or the dog. Many expectant mothers here choose a mix: a short walk through the garden, then a few quiet frames at home, where a warm room makes flowing dresses or bare-bump portraits comfortable. In winter parts of the garden close and the light goes early, so the photographer usually moves everything indoors. You receive an edited gallery with the delivery time stated in the quote. Send us your due date, your part of town and the setting you prefer.

Location ideas in Salzburg

  1. 01

    Great parterre of the Mirabellgarten

The central fountain with Ottavio Mosto’s four figure groups for fire, air, earth and water, and the garden’s axis aimed at the fortress. Wide gravel paths, easy to walk.

  2. 02

    Heckentheater

One of the oldest hedge theatres north of the Alps, green walls on every side and very private. It hosts summer events and is closed in winter, so check before you go.

  3. 03

    Mozartsteg and the left-bank promenade

A flat route along the Salzach with the old town as backdrop, good for walking shots with your partner when the garden is too busy.

Good to know

  • From May to August aim for 6.15 to 7.30 am in the Mirabellgarten: the garden is open, the sun is still low and you can sit down between frames.
  • In winter the Heckentheater and the Zwergerlgarten are shut and parts of the garden close; plan a home session or a heated studio instead.
  • The garden is within walking distance of Salzburg Hauptbahnhof with the Mirabell-Congress garage close by — easier than hunting for parking late in pregnancy.

Frequently asked questions

When should I book a maternity shoot in Salzburg?

Get in touch in the second trimester and fix a date for around weeks 30 to 36. In Salzburg that leaves room to move the maternity session if a rainy front sits over the city or you simply do not feel well that morning.

Can my partner and our older child be in the maternity photos?

Of course. Most maternity sessions in Salzburg start with portraits of you alone and then bring in your partner, siblings or the dog. Mention who is coming so the photographer plans enough time for every combination.

Can the same photographer take our newborn photos later?

Some maternity photographers in Salzburg also offer newborn sessions at home, which keeps the style consistent across both galleries. Say so in your request and we look for someone who covers both.
