When to go

Summer is lake season, warm and long, with the big Villacher Kirchtag folk festival in early August. Late spring and September offer calmer lakes and clear mountain views. Autumn colours on the Dobratsch are beautiful, and winter can bring snow on the peaks with mild light in the valley.
