Wedding videographers in Austria

Photos keep the look of the day; a film keeps the sound and the movement — your voices during the vows, the laughter at a speech, the music as you walk in. That is why a wedding videographer works differently from a photographer: they place small microphones on the groom or celebrant, take a feed from the band or DJ, and stay longer on each moment so it can be cut together into a story. Most couples choose a highlight film of roughly 3–10 minutes set to music, a longer documentary edit of 20–60 minutes or more with the ceremony and speeches in full, or both.

Whether you marry in a Viennese palace, at a registry office in Salzburg or on a mountain terrace in Tyrol, tell us your date, venue and what you would like to watch again in ten years. We check which videographers in our network are free, and you receive their details and a quote before anything is booked. If you already have a photographer, mention it — the two will coordinate positions so neither ends up in the other’s shot.

How to plan it

  1. 1

    Choose the films you want

A highlight film, a full ceremony recording, uncut speeches, a short teaser for social media — each takes different filming and editing time. Knowing which you want makes quotes comparable.

  2. 2

    Plan for clean audio

Ask your venue and celebrant whether a small clip-on microphone is fine during the ceremony, and let the videographer speak to the band or DJ about a sound feed for speeches.

  3. 3

    Bring photographer and videographer together

Share a timeline with both, ideally with a short call beforehand. Couple portraits can be shared too: a few extra minutes per location give the videographer moving shots without slowing the day down.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to receive the wedding film?

Editing a wedding film takes far longer than editing photos, and in peak season it can be several weeks to a few months. Many videographers send a short teaser sooner. Ask for the expected delivery time when you compare quotes.

Can we have drone shots at our wedding?

Often, yes, as an add-on from a videographer who is a registered drone operator. Whether flying is allowed depends on the location — for example near airports, in protected areas or over guests — and the operator checks this before the day.

Do we need a videographer if we already have a photographer?

They capture different things. Photos are best for prints and albums, while only a film keeps your vows, the speeches and the atmosphere with sound. Some couples book a shorter video package just for the ceremony and speeches.

What does a wedding videographer in Austria cost?

It depends on hours of filming, the number of films, editing time, travel and extras such as a second camera or a drone. Each videographer sets their own prices, and you receive a concrete quote for your date. Sending a request is free and non-binding.
