A portrait photographer in Graz is a photographer who creates personal portraits, profile pictures and personal-branding images of one person, outdoors in the city, at your workplace or in a studio. For a contemporary look, the best-known backdrop is the Kunsthaus Graz on the right bank of the Mur, opposite the old town. Designed by the British architects Peter Cook and Colin Fournier and opened in 2003, it is nicknamed the “Friendly Alien”: a curved building with an outer skin of acrylic glass panels, a glazed bridge called the “Needle” that looks back towards the city, and the historic Eisernes Haus built into the ensemble. That mix gives a portrait session three moods in a few minutes: smooth blue curves for a clean, modern frame, the older façade of the Eisernes Haus for texture, and the lit façade at dusk for something more atmospheric. The surrounding Lend district adds cafés, small shops and the market square. A typical session lasts one to two hours with two or three outfits; you choose from a gallery and receive retouched files sized for print and screens.
