The published hike to the Gaistalalm and Tillfussalm is 9.7 km with 230 m of ascent, about three hours; the bike route is 10.5 km in about an hour, so plan a half day for a portrait there.
Bring two tops in different colours and one jacket: the Gaistal is shady in the morning and bright at noon, so contrast matters.
In October the Tillfussalm closes for the season; from November, choose the village or the plateau trails instead.
