Because the shore faces west with the mountain behind it, the morning sun reaches the water late, while the afternoon and evening light falls straight onto the beaches. A typical session lasts 60–90 minutes: the gorge with its rock towers first, then the gravel shore at lake level, and a few frames on the boat deck if you take the ship back to town.
